Readers to Leaders

The 2018 Love Our Libraries (LOL) event was a hit! The Williamson County Library Foundation raised $30,000. While a bit shy of our goal, the evening was full of fun, laughter and more than a little healthy competition during our silent and live auctions.

Funds from this event will go towards the Foundation’s full sponsorship of the Summer Reading Program PLUS improvements of the children’s sections of each library.

The proceeds from this year’s event, Readers to Leaders, will be used for improvements in the children’s sections at each of the six branch libraries.

AWE Early Literacy Stations that build literacy skills, improve school readiness and prepare 2-8 year olds for curriculum
AWE AfterSchool Edge offering homework assistance for 6-12 year olds
Whimsical murals in the children’s departments to make the magic of reading come alive

Our six public libraries in Bethesda, College Grove, Fairview, Franklin, Leiper’s Fork, and Nolensville, are community centerpieces, especially for our children in Williamson County. For example, since the opening of the Franklin library in 2003, there have been over 400,000 visits by children - for programs, resources, activities as well as checkouts. The varied resources offered in our libraries, all free of charge, are for residents from all walks of life.

Today’s library patrons are looking for much more than books on shelves, and the Williamson County Public Library system strives to meet these needs. Donations to the Williamson County Library Foundation can go above and beyond the basics to ensure that a place of learning, discovery, and success will always be available to each and every Williamson County resident, at all of our library branches.
