Children’s Area Murals are Complete
While the primary purpose of the 2018 Love Our Libraries (LOL) event was raising funds for the Summer Reading Program, there was an extra special secondary purpose - beautify the children’s areas of each Williamson County Library. Through the silent and live auction, the Foundation raised funds for local artist, Marin Brennan, to design and paint murals.
Over the past 18 months, Marin has been busy drawing and painting beautiful scenes at the six community branches. Each mural is unique and custom designed for the children’s area space.
Topics range from a barnyard jubilee at the Bethesda library to woodland creatures reading near the Bookmobile at the College Grove library. The Fairview library features animals journeying to the library, socializing along the way, while the main Franklin branch has a beautiful meadow and lake scene.
The Leiper’s Fork branch features a bicycle race down a lush country road. The Nolensville branch depicts all variety of animals gathering for shopping at a bountiful farmer’s market.
“The murals are inspired by each unique community in Williamson County. I wanted to represent each of them in a colorful, playful and whimsical way, making sure to highlight specifics aspects of beautiful Tennessee,” shared Marin in the May 2019 edition of the Franklin Lifestyle Magazine article highlighting these stunning creations.
We encourage all our Williamson County residents to stop by their local branch to take a look at this beautiful work, funded by you – our generous sponsors.
