"Enriching people's lives" – this is the global vision of Nissan and all of its operating companies across the world. Nissan supports its vision by offering customers unparalleled products and services and by improving the quality of life in the communities where it operates.
The Nissan Foundation team shares a little more about why supporting the WCLF is important and some cherished childhood memories at the library.
Why is it important for Nissan's to support the community?
It’s important for Nissan to give back to the local communities in which it has a presence.
How does your support of the Williamson County Library fit into that strategy?
There are 3 focus areas for the Nissan Neighbors Program: Education, Environment, and Humanitarian Aid. The Williamson County Library fits within the education component.
Do you have any favorite library remembrances from childhood that you can share?
I remember when I was in daycare, we used to go to the old library in downtown Franklin for story time. We were always excited about going because if we were all well behaved we got a sucker for the ride home, which is practically gold for a young child. Needless to say, if a kid acted up and we didn't get a sucker, that kid was considered the outcast of the class for the next several days.
What is your favorite book?
I can't really say that one book is my all-time favorite, but a book that does stand out is The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It's such an original story and written in a unique style, but I also think anyone that is a dad will be especially drawn to the relationship the father has with his child.
